The program in details :

The Casa Hogar Francisco Gabilondo Soler Institution is a public assistance organization.

of Colima state government, it takes in children, some of them very young (babies) up to 16 years old.

The children were, for some, abandoned by their families and sometimes sexually abused at a very young age. As a result, they are placed by the government pending possible adoption. They are provided with food, shelter, and schooling. However, while the government provides food and shelter, it does little to assist with schooling, paying only for uniforms and teachers.

So there is little help for school and absolutely nothing for extra-curricular activities. Griselda Cruz takes care of the children after school, checks that they have eaten well, helps them with their homework and keeps them occupied as much as she can until bedtime. Her husband is the coach of the Colima badminton team, he came one Wednesday afternoon with his players to entertain the children who really loved the sport.

Deyanira Chiñas, an old friend of Solibad, asked for our help so that these children could play badminton regularly. So we decided to send rackets, nets, shuttlecocks and shoes knowing that there is a responsible adult to take care of the equipment and ensure its proper use. 39 children between 6 and 13 years old were, at first, very interested in badminton, we bet that others will follow.

The goal of this program is, as for Gravata in Brazil, to help children "forget" their difficult past through sport. In addition, we will also send money for school equipment and other necessary supplies. Depending on the needs of course. Deyanira and the person in charge on the spot will regularly report on the situation.
